A group of nearly eighty MPs including Podujana Peramuna , opposition and independent members are working to hand over a petition to the President against a few clauses of the 22nd Constitution Amendment Bill that has been submitted to the Parliament.
They have decided not participate in the voting on the said bill if the clauses empowering the President to dissolve the parliament are not amended.
They demand that the clause in the Constitution on the power to dissolve Parliament after two and half years should be changed to four and a half years.
