The Archbishop of Colombo, Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith, said that he does not approve the harassment by summoning those who express their suspicions over the Easter Sunday bombing attack to the Criminal Investigation Department

Archbishop of Colombo, Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith who expressed that actions such as summoning those who talk about suspicious facts related to the Easter Sunday bombing attack to the CID cannot be expected from responsible leaders, also stressed that the law should be enforced against those who were involved in and supported the Easter Sunday terror attacks.

The Cardinal emphasized that a Ruler of a country can be accepted as a real Ruler if he enforces the law in the correct way. “Even if we lose our lives or are killed, we are not going to renounce this fight” the Cardinal further stated.  Archbishop of Colombo, Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith was expressing his emotional views while handing over a house to Pradeep Susantha, who lost his wife and children in the attack on the Katuwapitiya Church.

“When warnings of this suicide bombing attack were delivered by Indian Intelligence Agency, former President Maithripala Sirisena and members of the security unites tried to establish their own security who should be punished. Even though the Presidential Commission to investigate in to the suicide bombing attack on the Easter Sunday had recommended to punish those who neglected and failed to take measures to prevent the attack, including former President Maithripala Sirisena, the failure of the present administration to implement these recommendations had wasted Rs. 600 million spent for this Commission”   Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith further emphasized.
