(Rumi Speelberg)

Every one of us have values which are based on your beliefs. Your behavior and activities are greatly influenced by your values.  Hence your decisions with regard to your relationships at various forums such as family, workplace and society are molded by your values.

Jesus as a Preacher had a bunch of values. His passion towards creating a peaceful society originated from his values. As a person who always wants to see a battle free world, I would like to highlight a few of Jesus’ values which influenced me very much.

Jesus valued Life

Why did Jesus come to this world?  Christians believe that Jesus was sent to the world by his bellowed father who created this world to pay the ransom of the sin, done by Adam and Eve as a result of which the perfect formation of the physical body of the Adam and Eve was destroyed by them themselves by disobeying the Creator of the world. Hence Jesus himself is “life” and he came to this world to give an eternal life for every one of us.

He did not take the life of anyone. When people lost if, Jesus gave it back to few people which is evident in the Holy Bible.

Jesus resurrected the 12-year-old daughter of Jairus who died, when Jesus was in Capernaum. Bible Reference: Luke 8:49–56
Resurrecting Lazarus of Bethany who died 4 days ago and whose body was in the tomb.  Bible Reference: John 11:1-44

Jesus valued Love

Jesus gave love to everyone freely. His love was not confined to a particular clan. He lived by love and died because of love. He sacrificed his life on the cross because of his love for mankind.

Jesus valued Peace

He advocated peace. All his preaches were based on peace. Jesus said "But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also"  - Bible reference Matthew 5:39

Hence Jesus is called “The Prince of Peace” .

Jesus valued truth

Truth is the quality or state of being true. Jesus never lied to anyone. He did not mislead anyone. Throughout his life Jesus demonstrated truth in his preaching.

The Chief Priest complained to King Pilate that Jesus is claiming to be the king of Jews and in the trial Pilate asked Jesus “Are you the king of the Jews?” Jesus answered “So you say” Jesus would have escaped the trial and the capital punishment if he denied that which he never wanted.

Bible reference Matthew 27:1-2, 11-26

Jesus valued wisdom

Since Jesus valued wisdom he pursued and developed it “Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God”

Bible reference 2 Peter 1:2

Every year Jesus’ parents went to Jerusalem for the Festival of the Passover.  When he was twelve years old, they went up to the festival, according to the custom.  After the festival was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it.  Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends.  When they did not find him, they went back to Jerusalem to look for him.  After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions.  Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers.

Bible reference Luke 2:41-52
