The majority of UNP local government members are rallying around the reformists of the party led by Ravi Karunanayake, Navin Dissanayake and Arjuna Ranatunga

The majority of UNP local government members who have great faith in Chairman of the National Movement for a Just Society, Deshabandu Karu Jayasuriya pointed out that the United National Party does not have a political future without Deshabandu Karu Jayasuriya, Ravi Karunanayake, Navin Dissanayake and Arjuna Ranatunga.

These local government members who strongly reject the leadership of Ranil Wickremesinghe, stressed that people strongly reject UNP Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijewardene, Chairman Vajira Abeywardena, General Secretary Palitha Range Bandara and Deputy Leader Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, also pointed out that the UNP has no future with these office bearers.  

These local government members further emphasized that Deshabandu Karu Jayasuriya, Ravi Karunanayake, Navin Dissanayake and Arjuna Ranatunga should come forward to lead the UNP to victory.
