Health guidelines tighten again

A new set of health guidelines was issued yesterday (18) further tightening the existing restrictions to prevent rapidly spreading of COVID-19 virus with the deadly variant, Delta in the country. The relevant circular was issued by Director General of Health Services Dr. Asela Gunawardena. The guidelines will be strictly imposed from Thursday (19) up to 31st of this month.

Accordingly only one person is permitted to move out from residence for purchasing commodities and to attend other essential activities. But this restriction will not be applicable for those who report to work and for health requirements.  

Daycare centers will be closed for two weeks while operating of gymnasiums and indoor stadiums are prohibited.

Shopping malls will also be closed completely and only 25 % of the capacity of Super markets is permitted for customers at any given time.  This accommodation of 25% of the spacing capacity, is applicable for Hotels and Resorts too.

Carnivals, musical shows, beach parties , beach gatherings are prohibited while Children's parks ,Swimming pools and massage centers will be completely closed.
