Do not further destroy the country

UNP leader Mr. Ranil Wickremasinghe emphasized that government should take immediate action to project the GSP + tax concession without destroying the country and the people further by playing with GSP + tax concession politically.

Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe issuing a special statement to the media about the dangerous situation with regard to the GSP + tax concession,  further stated.

The good governance took measures to provide amenities to the people by developing the economy with regaining the GSP + tax concession in 2017 from European Union. There was a tremendous improvement in the apparel and fisheries in industries due to the facility of exporting items to European countries without taxes. European Parliament is having issues with GSP + taxes, benefits granted to Sri Lanka. We have been born to this concession in the future. 

Our tourism industry has due to the covid-19 pandemic. Fisheries industry to is facing difficulties with the express ship. The foreign employment also decrease. Hence foreign exchange has decreased Sri Lanka and  had to obtain a loan of 200 million Dollars from Bangladesh to the economic crisis with decrease of foreign earnings. There are only a apparel and tea trades to earn for in money if we lose the GSP + rupee will further decrease where are the dollar exchange rate will exchange Rs. 300.00. We may lose great deal of employment the government should act quickly to protect the GSP + without playing politics in this serious situation. Do not at the burden economic burden, sustained by people of the country do not destroy the country.
