Braille system for blinds to vote

Disable people’s rights are secured

A memorandum of understanding was signed between Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Gotabaya Rajapaksha and jointly by Sri Lanka Empathy Movement and Organization for disable people at their Office in Mirihana on Wednesday(6).

Addressing after signing the pact, Mr. Gotabaya stated…

“I will introduce a mechanism under my Presidency for blind people to vote with the use of Braille system. I will legalize the United Nation’s Convention of 2007 on blind people in the country to protect the rights of them.

I took action to create pavements to ensure the safety and provided access to public places for disable people under our government and this program will be continued in the future.

The MOU was signed by Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Secretary Mr. Sagara Kariyawasam, Chairperson of the Disabled People's Organization Joint Front Ms. Rasanjali Pathirage and the President of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Empathy Movement Susantha Wickramayasinghe
