Ravis proposal to abolish pension submitted to Parliament

Ravi Karunanayake presented a proposal to abolish the pension of members of parliament as a private member's motion to parliament on Friday (07).

Due to this, the public's trust in members of parliament has been damaged and he has brought this proposal to restore it. At this time, since we are working in parliament representing the wishes of the people, it is necessary to fulfill the needs of the people, the MP said, expressing his views further.

"I am presenting this proposal to eliminate the social opposition that exists. If we do not change this, this will simply become a municipal council. It has been seen as a situation that is detrimental to the country in the past few years. At a time when we are creating a new political culture, we have all come together and made this request with the intention of asking whether we will create a problem for ourselves or increase the trust in society in us."
