Bilateral series in world cricket are historic for various reasons and events. Many such notable series can be seen all over the world. They have their own unique histories built around various personalities in the game of cricket.


- The Ashes

The world's premier bilateral Test cricket tournament played between Australia and England. It began in 1882.


- The Warne - Murali trophy

The trophy awarded to the winner of the Australia - Sri Lanka Test series. This began in the 2007-2008 season. The trophy is made of replicas of Warne and Murali's hands and two balls with which they took wickets.


- The Frank Worrell trophy

The Frank Worrell trophy is a trophy awarded to the winners of the Test series between Australia and the West Indies in honour of West Indies cricketer Sir Frank Worrell. It was first held in 1960.


- The Border - Gavaskar trophy

The Border - Gavaskar trophy was first held in 1996 between India and Australia. The BGT is the most watched Test series in the world after the Ashes.

 

- The Pataudi trophy

The Pataudi trophy is the trophy awarded to the Test series between England and India in England. It was established in 2007 to mark the 75th anniversary of the first Test match between England and India. It is named after the Pataudi family of former Indian cricket.


- The Anthony De Mello trophy

The trophy awarded in the India-England Test series is called the Anthony De Mello Trophy. Anthony is a founder of the BCCI and tournaments like the Ranji Trophy have been started according to his concepts.


- The Freedom trophy (Gandhi - Mandela trophy)

This is the name of the trophy awarded in the India-South Africa series since 2014 in memory of Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela.


- The Basil D'Oliveira trophy

A Test series between England and South Africa. This trophy is named in honor of Basil D'Oliveira, an English cricketer of South African origin who faced apartheid problems.


- The Chappell - Hadlee trophy

The Chappell - Hadlee Trophy is awarded for the annual One-Day International series between Australia and New Zealand. The trophy is awarded in honour of the Chappell and Hadley cricket families.


- The Trans - Tasman trophy

The trophy awarded in the Test series between the two teams is called this.


- The Wisden trophy / Richards - Botham trophy

The Wisden trophy is the trophy awarded in the Test series between England and the West Indies. It was introduced in 1963 to commemorate the 100th volume of the Wisden Cricket Edition. In 2020, its name was changed to the Richards - Botham trophy.


- The Sobers - Tissera trophy

The trophy awarded in the Sri Lanka - West Indies Test series is called this in honour of Garfield Sobers and Michael Tissera.


- The Crowe - Thrope trophy

The Crowe - Thrope Trophy Test match is held between New Zealand and England in memory of Martin Crowe and Graham Thrope.
