Deyyandara God runs without clothes

Famous Journalist Siri Ranasinghe, who is known as Diyyandara God who sat on the throne of Lankadeepa for 33 years, ran away recently without telling anyone.  Siri Ranasinghe is the Godfather of journalism in this country. He has such a dark history. This political parasite, who behaved like a leader of a mafia gang, betrayed his newspaper to often indulge in theft, bribery and fraud. Not only that, he advocated on political thieves without shame. He frequently devoted the front pages of the Lankadeepa newspaper for stupid and foolish opinions of Mahinda, Gotabhaya and Basil Rajapaksha. Claiming that Siri Ranasinghe balanced the Lankadeepa Newspaper is a pity joke. He never followed an unbiased practice for the newspaper.

He always used the newspaper as a prostitute for his narrow ambitions. Greed and hypocrisy had entangled his old mind. Even though he was   84 years, he was expecting another extension of his service. But the management did not like it. They sent a letter informing that the service of Siri Ranasinghe will be terminated with effect from December 31st. He who was antagonized with the decision of the management to terminate his services became so arrogant as if a serpent, addressed two or three people in a weak voice for less than five minutes and left the institution. 

 The fate of Lankadeepa

Lankadeepa, which has been flourishing for a while as a proud national newspaper, has gone down the drain today. The newspaper often publishes false and shameful news. There are corrections and apologies daily. Due to the untrustworthiness of some staff journalists, the Editor had to go to the extent of apologizing in front of the Parliamentary Privileges Committee.  Disappointed employees say that Siri Ranasinghe led an autocratic regime by giving all the privileges and benefits only to the pets of his village. During his service, he left talented employees aside and gave privileges and high positions for his allies who were not due for the same. It is also said that the newly appointed Executive Officer named Janaka took it back to this level which was converted by Siri Ranasinghe to an old orphanage. Once he had a conflict with the Executive Officer and tendered his resignation and came back shamelessly. His staff says that even though his name is Siri Ranasinghe there was no Siri or pleasantness on his face. It is also said that he is very competent at insulting all other journalists except his allies. He had retained retired journalists even after sixty for his own existence. This notorious Editor who still wants to hold the Lankadeepa chair to support his grant child abroad, is an old man who is on the verge of death.  Because of his ugly management style, competent and experienced Journalists have been frustrated.

 A big chair for the weakest Editor

Recently, the Editor had also given several promotions to his friends. The weakest person in the sub editor board had been appointed to the high chair. (This person who is a tuition master cannot even edit a news grammatically). It is said that this person is a close relation in Deyyandara village.   A person who got caught in a big photocopier theft has been appointed to the post of news editor. He is also a good friend of the Editor’s son in law.

 Peon Journalists

Meanwhile, a few Peon Journalists have become champions. Their only qualification is to tell all gossip to the Editor. A talented person who can write news grammatically has been given a consolation gift when he is about to retire. Except for one or two, the main positions of the newspaper have been given to relatives and friends, not to those who deserve the same. There are few others who attend to the domestic work of the Editor such as bus conductors, Peons who also pretend to be Journalists. All those are allies of him. An Office Assistant who is supposed to go on retirement recently has been given a high position in the Sub Editorial Board. (He too is a buddy of Siri Ranasinghe). It is said that he had been given this appointment because of the unconditional allegiance to Siri Ranasinghe as a way of paying gratitude. He too is said to be a buddy who was doing anything on Siri Ranasignhe’s command as well as a rogue who marked his finger thump on the machine on days where he did not report to work. Having noticed all these fraudulent activities Siri Ranasinghe turned a blind eye. This is how he facilitated frauds and pilfering as usual.

Tribute to Johnny

There was a time in the country where felicitation ceremonies were organized for undeserved figures. Among them were politicians who did nothing for the people. A veteran Journalist, Divalakada Gunadasa Liyanage organized a strange felicitation ceremony who saw this farce. He felicitated a person, named Johnny  who worked as a hard labourer at the Horana bus stand. “ Siri Asiri felicitation ceremony is not second to Johnny’s ceremony. This old Editor who followed a hypocritical and jealous practice by kicking talented and experienced journalists, is a good for nothing Journalist with no creativity. Siri Ranasinghe is a crook. A thief. .A briber. There is no important book authored by him.

Notorious newspaper theft

When he was serving Dinamina Newspaper he was sacked due to newspaper theft. He survived on the Editors Chair for 33 years at Wijaya Newspaper Organization hoodwinking the Chairman and is the Editor who is most incompetent and stupid.  To cover up his incompetence, he has set up a false organization called Editor's Forum and sits in its chair like a treasury protector. The aggrieved employees are heaving a sigh of relief at the departure of this old Editor, who was loitering here and there in the office while giving stupid solutions on employee issues (such as cutting the goat's neck to take the pot out). Now without the warmth of the dog, the flea sings the swan song.
