Former Sri Lanka Cricket Captain and former S.L.F.P. Mathara District Parliamentarian Sanath Jayasooriya had discussions with the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna Leaders to join the JVP political win. It seems that former S.L.F.P Mathata District Organizer who held a Deputy Minister portfolio is seeking an opportunity to recommence his active politics from the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna even though he is a close associate of Minister of Sports Roshan Ranasingha

Even though he was a Deputy Minister and the Organizer of the Mathara District representing the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, he did not serve the people of the area which is a well-known factor.

Irrespective of his being a successful politician or not, everyone accepts the fact that he was a Cricket Legend who discharged his duty very well by bringing glory to the motherland for over a decade in national cricket. The sources revealed that his membership for the JVP had been rejected by the leadership.
