Arjuna-Sanath mixing politics with cricket

It is evident when considering the number of cricket selection committees of the past few years that the committees changed at a rapid speed. Hence the present committee under the chairmanship of Promodya Wickramasingha seems to be doing well. One reason for this is, giving opportunities to young players. Cricket is a game to be played with young blood.

The selection committee should not go behind brands but performance. Former players Arjuna and Jayasuriya are trying to create a hard time for the selection committee. It is no surprise that they are politicians. Hence the Sport Minister should understand this situation.

No doubt that in the 2011 World Cup, Sri Lankan Cricket Selection Committee gave prominence for brand names. Hence the standards maintained by the present selection committee I commendable. Arjuna and Jayasuriya are trying to mix politics with cricket. Their behaviors show that instead of developing cricket, they are interested in maintaining their political agenda in Sri Lanka cricket.
