America also intervenes with the local government election

 The President is informed to hold the election on the due date

"The morning" weekly newspaper reported that the American government has notified President Ranil Wickremesinghe to hold the local government election on time.

The newspaper states that this notification was made during the discussion held last week between, Senior Director of South Asia of the American National Security Council (NSC),Rear Admiral Eileen Laubacher and the President.

Regional security was also discussed in this meeting and American Ambassador to Sri Lanka Julia Chang also attended the meeting.
