A group of lawyers intend to litigate the authority for construction of permanent roadblocks with sharp nails to control protesters which violates basic human rights.
They pointed out that the construction of permanent roadblocks with sharp nails on the surface, to control the protest organized by the Inter University Students Union, has caused many hardship and difficulties to the residents and the general public who use these roads for various transportation. Since these blocks have been constructed in an area in which leading hotels, office complexes and residential apartments are situated, this is a severe inconvenience for the occupants.
Legal experts also say that anyone has the legal authority to file fundamental rights petitions in court over the inconvenience caused to the general public by the construction of permanent roadblocks in this manner.
