Taliban militants have captured the northern Afghan city of Kunduz after heavy fighting with Afghan government troops on Sunday (8) and Sar-e-Pul and Taloqan simultaneously. They have taken control of the Airport in the captured Kunduz city and hoisted their national flag in the center of the city.
Foreign media says that the burning of buildings and shops in the city by the Taliban extremists who fought with the government forces to seize power in the city has created a scary picture. Taliban militants have seized four regional capitals since last Friday, and the city of Kunduz is considered the most important city they have seized power in this year.
