The Port City should be brought under the supervision of the Parliament

Chief Opposition Whip and Samagi Jana Balawegaya Kandy District Parliamentarian, Attorney-at-Law, Lakshman Kiriella emphasized in the Parliament on Tuesday (20) that the Colombo Port City should be brought under the supervision of the Parliament.

Mr. Lakshman Kiriella also requested that a condition should be brought that the accounts of the Port City Project should be submitted to the Parliamentary Select Committee on Public Enterprises annually.  

"Even foreign countries have expressed suspicion that the Colombo Port City Act is a bill, brought with a hidden intention of setting up a center for money laundering.  This government has paved the way for China for permanent settlement in the county. We cannot do anything by antagonizing the sectorial power holder and the most neighbor India” Mr. Lakshman Kiriella further said.
