Sanna Marin of Finland became the world’s youngest sitting Prime Minister at the age of 34. She is the Finland's third female Prime Minister.
Marin was nominated on Sunday ( 8) by the Social Democratic party when its leader, Antti Rinne had to step down as a result of losing the confidence among his coalition Government over his handling of a postal strike.
Marin was the Transport and Communications Minister before this appointment.
At the age of 27 Marin became the Chief of the Municipal Council of her home town, Tampere and entered Parliament at the age 30 having a rapid growth in her political career.
She broke the record set by Jasinda Arden who became the Prime Minister of New Zealand at the age of 39.
