Will Sajith capture the Village of Mahinda?

Does Sajith need JVP votes to win?

When the Elephant falls down, it is not easy to get it up. Not possible even with the help of props. It is not possible to get it up unless the Elephant itself thinks and gets up. This was well realized by J.R. who was a famous Mahout to get Elephants to stand. J.R. after getting the party leadership got the Elephant to stand using a “Manthra”. He composed this manthra in compliance of sound effect rule to work for 4 people. One was J.R. himself. J.R. spoke to the City. Another name was Premadasa. He spoke to the village. Other name was Gamini. He spoke to Sinhala Buddhists. Other name was Lalith. He spoke to intellectuals. The Elephant got up for this Manthra. It ran smashing the SLFP and Leftist party.

J.R. chanted the same Manthra to get up the Elephant that was injured from the LTTE terror of North and JVP terror of South.

In 1988 Presidential Election the SLFP circulated a Book throughout the country. The name of the book was “ Alibaba saha Houru Hathaliha” ( Alibaba and forty Rogues). It mentioned how Pramadasa robbed from Gamudawa. How Lalith swallowed ships. How ships purchased by the country disappeared in the sea. How Gamini misappropriated from Mahaweli. How he bought Apple lands. SLFP described these thee as big Thieves. The Poster pasted throughout the country by the SLFP portrayed a picture in which J.R. was washing the bud of Premadasa. But J.R. chanted the sane Manthra composed in the name of these four.

Premasdasa and D.B. Wijethunga tried to change this Manthra who came to the party leadership after J.R. Premadasa isolated the City. It was the result of Gamini and Lalith forming the Democratic United National Front. They grasped around one million votes and captured the City. Premadasa was assassinated and when D.B. Wijethunga became the party leader he isolated the village and tried to capture the City. The ultimate results were UNP losing the village. Chandrika who formed the Podujana Peramuna making use of “ Hasthikantha Manthra” captured the City isolated by Premadasa, captured the village isolated by Wijethunga , controlled the Elephant and got the Presidency and the government to ALFP after 17 years.

Even though Ranil got the party leadership in 1995, he could not chant the Elephant Manthra chanted by J.R. in 1977. Ranil represented J.R. Up to 2012 Sajith was just a Parliamentarian. Premadasers were out of the party. Nawin, who represented Gamini walked out from the party claiming that he did not have a place in the party. Ranil was competent enough to get Ravi in to the UNP who represented Lalith braking off from Podujana Peramuna. UNP had lost the village represented by Prmadasa and Sinhala Buddhists, represented by Gamini. That is why UNP could not win a Presidential Election for 25 years.

It is not easy to capture the village. It is a difficult task. Premadasa captured the village with a great difficulty.

Even though the SLFP villagers lit crackers when Premadasa was assassinated on 1st May 1993, he won the village in Palath Saba Election of 1993. He won Hambantota, Mathara, Galle, Monaragala, Anuradhapua, Plonnaruwa, Rathnapura, Kurunegala all. Sabaragamuwa, North Central, Uwa, Southern, Wayamba, Central all. UNP lost only Western. Podujana Peramuna formed local governments in South and Wayamba with the help of Members got appointed from Democratic United National Front. UNP won the Central even though Gamini Dissanayawa was fielded from Podujana Peramuna and D.U.N.F as the Chief Minister aspirant. The reason was the cast oppressed villagers voted for Premadasa’s name even though he was not alive. D.B. Wijethunga dissolved the Southern Pala Saba in 1994 and named it “Gala Uda Satana”. He held the Election after removing Premadasa’s name from the party and battering Premadasers and Premadasa family. He went to the Election with Anti Premadasa Gamini, Lalith and Anura Bandaranayke. By this time JVP and Champika’s “Janatha Mithuro” got the votes of the oppressed villagers to Chandrika. Chandrika won the Galauda Satana. He won the Presidential Election and the General Election in 1994 because of the trend. But she could not capture the village. It was JVP who could capture the village which was under Premadasa. Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna in 2004 General Election captured Premadasa’s cast oppressed village and taking the Chandrika and SLFP in to custody. It was S.W.R.D. Bandaranayake and old Leftist party that made the cast oppressed village powerful. After Bandaranayake Mrs. Bandaranayake and old Leftist party protected the village up to 1970. In 1971 the JVP re captured the village grabbing it from SLFP. In 1977 Premadasa captured it under J.R.’s leadership. After Premadasa’s assassination, JVP captured the village. In 2005 Mahinda captured the village and JVP got weakened.

What is orientation of the village in 2019 Presidential Election?.

When Gotabaya was nominated who could speak to the people of educated, intelligent, tradesmen urban community which was the vote base of Ranil, UNP nominated a Premadasa who could address the cast oppressed villagers who are represented by Mahinda. Gota is taking about a “ vision” while Sajith taking about the village.

“Then JVP……?”

JVP doesn’t have a say in the village now. JVP too speaks to the City now. When Mrs. Bandaranayake lost in 1982 Presidential Election, J.R. told an amazing story. He told that N.M. and Colvin ran away with the cloths of Mrs. Bandaranayake when she was having a bath in the river. What he meant by this comment was that Mrs. Bandaranayake lost the Leftist vote base. It is with the old leftist party. In 2005 Mahinda captured the village from the hold of JVP. JVP now doesn’t have a hold on the village. Pohottuwa thinks that JVP without fielding a candidate in 2015 Presidential Election got 5 to 7 lacks votes to Maithreepala. They calculate that this time Sajith will lose that votes since JVP is fielding a Presidential candidate this time. The UNP contested alone in the General Election of 2015. At the time the government was rotten. After 6 months of taking over power. When the Treasury Bond Scam came to light. When COPE declared Bond issue as a scam. But UNP won without an alliance with JVP and TNA. It was Ranil who gave the leadership to the campaign who was alleged as the Rogue of Treasury Bonds by Pohottuwa. Mahinda competed with Duminda Dissanayake who came to UNP for the victory of Maithree in 2015 Presidential Election. Mahinda came to the 2015 Election with Maithree.

JVP   - 544,154    - 4.87%

Hence Sajith doesn’t want JVP to win. He has to capture the village that was under the hold of his father and under the hold of Mahinda in 2005. Bandaranayake and the Leftist captured the village making use of the capitalist and the decisive class. Premadasa captured the village making use of Overlords and average man. Mahinda captured the village making use of patriots and traitors. Sajith is going to capture the village making use of Mahinda’s patriot weapon and chanting the “ Podi Miniha Manthra” of his father. That Manthra is not sufficient enough to win the Election. Sajith has to chant the “Elephant Manthra” chanted by J.R. in 1977. Ranil who represents J.R. had already got North and East votes to Sajith. Navin who represents Gamini goes throughout the country for the victory of Sajith.
