Sajith could not address the Rally of Kurunegala

“The lights suddenly went out in the area"

A Rally had been organized in Kurunegala to ensure the victory of Presidential candidate of New Democratic Front Sajith Premadasa on Wednesday ( 30). Mr. Sajith Premadasa was on his way to the rally after addressing rallies, held in Vavuniya, Kinniya and Dambulla. Since there was a power outage , Mr. Sajith Premadasa had to skip the Kurunagala rally and proceed to Minuwangoda rally.

“The lights suddenly went out in the area when the Helicopter, carrying Mr. Sajith Premadasa was about to land”, the Organizer of the rally said. The Helicopter Operators refused to land since it was too dark and risky.

One of the organizers confirmed that as soon as the meeting was over the lights had come back.

This meeting was to be held at a ground belonging to the Kurunegala Municipality Council which is under the administration of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna.
