The first thing that Sajith did not do..!

This is the name of the film that is being screened backing Box Office records today. Now people can’t remember that Gotabaya Rajapaksha is a candidate. No sense that Anura Kumara too is contesting. Now people want to see whether Ranil will give the candidacy to Sajith.

The group that wants Sajith to get the candidacy says that Sajith should contest since a public survey had confirmed his victory. This survey had been carried out by Doctor Harsha De Silva. Harsha is not a person who entered politics by winning a Provincial Council , Palath Saba or a General Election. He was a person who came to Ranil’s office in 2008 to calculate Sri Lankan economy according to Mudi’s Index during Mahinda’s Regime. He was helping Ranil to prepare his statements over the economic crisis during Mahinda’s Government with a heap of articles and documents on the world economy, downloaded from the Internet. Eventhough Ranil asked him to contest the Palath Saba Election sensing that he wanted to enter politics, he did not like it. What he wanted was to enter the Parliament though the National List. He realizing that Mudi’s analysis is not sufficient to realize that dream, he started carrying out public surveys. He was a Chief of a Research Company that carried out public surveys. He showed in his public surveys that Sarath Fonseka will win in 2010. But he lost. Somehow he entered his name to the National List by confirming the victory if contest through the symbol of Elephant at the General Election in 2010. UNP got a severe defeat at the General Election of 2010. Ranil was reluctant to get him to Parliament. Because there were UNPers in the National List who were very loyal to the party while doing the ground work with a lot of hardship ,calming that their blood too is green. It was Kilee Maharaja who influenced Ranil to send Harsha to the Parliament. Harsha was the Producer of “Sirasa Talk Show” telecasted by Sirasa of Maharaja. On the grace of Maharaja, Ranil sent Harsha to the Parliament. He ascended to the position of Treasure on rapid path in short time span by carrying out public surveys while creeping in to Ranil’s political promotional campaign. Ranil knows very well that not only Harsha’s public surveys but also world public surveys not correct. All the public surveys carried out within America confirmed Hilari Clinton’s victory. Confirming that all these public surveys are not accurate, Trump won the Election. Indian public surveys gave a wrong verdict about the victory of Narendra Modi in 2019. When he got a great victory people laughed at these survey results.

“It is not the public opinion that comes out from the public surveys. The opinion of the person who carries out it”.

This was a statement made by a Political Scientists about public surveys when Modi won against the result of public surveys. Ranil knows very well that reports of public surveys carried out by Harsha from 2009 was to appease him and make the way for him to enter Parliament. Ranil also knows very well that these public survey reports are to make the way for Harsha to get a strong Ministry such as Finance from Sajith that he could not get from Ranil. The other case is in this surveys reports Gotabaya is also there, Ranil is also there, Sajith is also there and Karu is also there. But Maithree is not there. Maithree, up to know has not confirmed that he will not contest. He was not included probably since there was no place for Maithree in the survey report. Do not whether he was deleted in the survey report deeming that Maithree will not support Sajith’s candidacy in case Maithree will be under Sajith in the preference. Harsha would have feared that he will be ousted from his Ministerial Portfolio if Maithree was placed at a law level in his public survey. The reason is nothing other than protecting their Ministerial Portfolios than the party. Maithreepala’s name was not in the public survey carried out on the Presidential Election in 2015. Maithree became the candidate after the public survey was carried out. But he won. The other case is Harsh is not a politician who is down to earth. He a political deal man who loiters around Embassies with public survey reports. Sujith describes these types of personalities as “ Kuruduwaththe Tie Coaters” who do not feel the sweat of the people and making decisions in Air-conditioned rooms.

“ Then how Sajith got charmed by them”.

Today who are around Sajith were around Ranil until the UNP experienced a terrible defeat at the Provincial Council Election in 2018. Ranil governed this country only until the first few months of 2017. Ranil relished that governing the country was not possible with Maithree who was trying to get Ranil caught by appointing commissions on Central Bank Bond Scam. Ranil gave up the Government. It was those who are around Sajith now who took over the Government after that. The main three pillars of a Government are Ministries of Defense, Finance and Media. It was those who want Sajith today and President Maithreepala who held those important Ministry Portfolios. It was Kabeer who shouts that they want Sajith who was the General Secretary of the party. It was he who handled the 2018 Provincial Council Election of 2018. It was Harsha who prepared the report of the public survey. In 2002 Ranil was governing the country. Since Chandrika was not interfering with the governance Ranil handled Ministries of Defense, Finance and Media. Ranil managed Sirikotha by General Secretary , Kapukotuwa. UNP got a landslide victory in 2002 Provincial Council Election.

As if Ranil had felt it, he decided to remove the Ministerial portfolios of these personalities after taking over the Government after the October 26th Conspiracy. They who got antagonized flied to Maithree’s house moving away from Ranil. Mithree linked them with Sajith. Sajith who described them as “Kuruduwaththe Tie Coaters” changed his stance over them on Mithree’s influence. These Birds started shouting that only Sajith can win, while standing on the roof of Maithree. It was after then that survey reports came in favor of Sajith. They hatred when Ranil took over the Government that was given to them by him after the October 26th Conspiracy. Now they intend to continue the Government started in 2017 after making Sajith the President and Maithree the Prime Minister.

It is wonder if Ranil does not understand that these birds who were around him , now try to destroy Sajith, the party and the Government being around Sajith. Ranil has to learn from the Presidential history how to select a Presidential candidate if the leader of the party is not contesting. Ranil is well experienced by handling Presidential Elections from 1982. JR nominated Premadasa in 1988 when he was not permitted by the Constitution to contest not carrying out public surveys. Chandrik was nominated in 1994 when the party leader Mrs. Bandaranayake was willing to contest, not through a public survey. Chandrika led the SLFP to victory in Western and Southern Palath Saba Elections. She nominated Mahinda as the Presidential candidate in 2005 when she could not contest, not after carrying out public surveys.

All the leaders of the SLFP including Anura went down in the preferential list in 2004 General Election. It was JVP candidates who came top of the list. Mahinda was the only senior of SLFP who topped the preferential list. It was from that point that the opinion that it is was only Mahinda who could protect the party, was established. It was how he became the candidate. It was Hela Urumaya and JVP who supported him when Chandrika was reluctant to give the candidacy to him, who could get the required number of votes for SLFP to win a Presidential Election. It was the Communist party and L.S.S.P who made Chandrika the Prime Minister and President. Anura described the Communist party as a Three Wheeler. SLFP nominated Chandrika to get their support to win the Election. It was JVP who made Sarath Fonseka the candidate in 2009. Since JVP votes are important to win, UNP accepted it. It was Rajitha, Duminda and Chandrika of SLFP who made Maithreepala the candidate in 2015.

UNP accepted it since the votes of SLFP were important to defeat Mahinda. But no point even Ranil gives the candidacy to Sajith. What Sajith would have done was to get the support of other parties to secure the 50% in a Presidential Election as Chandirka did in 1994 and Mahinda did in 2005.

Ranil would have given the candidacy to Sajith long time ago if Sajith did it rather than keeping meetings throughout country.
