Ranil returns to parliament..?

Ranil tells the people to "be patient"

A senior leader of the United National Party (UNP) confirmed to "lankanewsweek" that former President and leader of the party Ranil Wickremesinghe will return to Parliament as a National List MP at the end of 2025.

The senior leader also stated that he is filling the vacancy after one of the two National List MPs representing the New Democratic Front in Parliament resigned.

The leader further stated that after former President Ranil Wickremesinghe is elected to Parliament, a number of opposition MPs will join him and accordingly he will unite and organize the opposition both in and outside Parliament against the government.

During his visit to the Galle district, the people requested Ranil Wickremesinghe to return to Parliament and join the public service for the country and the nation, and he told the people to "be patient".
