Adani Green Energy has decided to withdraw from a planned $1 billion wind power project in Sri Lanka. The decision was reportedly made after considering various delays, including pending environmental clearances and ongoing Supreme Court litigation.
Investment analysts say the withdrawal is a bit surprising given the project has already secured most of the necessary approvals for its commencement. Adani Green Energy has already informed the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka about this and has stated that this is a “graceful withdrawal” and that the company is open to future projects in Sri Lanka.
