President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, who left Meratin to attend the World State Conference (WGS)- 2025 which is held from February 11 to 13 in Dubai, UAE, arrived at the Dubai International Airport this afternoon (10) afternoon. There, the President and the group were welcomed with great respect by Dr. Thani Bin Ahmed Al Seudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs in UAE. A group of delegates from the Dubai Sri Lanka Embassy including Alexi Gunasekara, Acting Ambassador of the UAE, Takshila Arnolda, the Sri Lanka Consul General for Dubai and Northern Emirates also attended the reception event.
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake will meet Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, CEO of Master Investment Group and nephew of the ruler of Ras Al Qaimah this afternoon. The meeting will focus on strengthening economic and investment co-operation between Sri Lanka and the UAE.
Following, the President is set to attend the ‘TIME 100 Gala Dinner’ dinner at the famous Future Museum (Future Museum) located in Dubai. Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Mr. Vijitha Herath also joins the President on the tour.

UAE Foreign Trade Minister Kalanidi Thani Bin Ahmed Al Seyood was given a grand welcome to the team including the President by the State Representatives. UAE Response Ambassador Thakshila Arnolda, Sri Lankan Embassy delegation in Dubai including Alexi Gunasekar, the Sri Lankan Consular General for Dubai and the Northern Emirates were also attended at the event.
President Anura Kumara Dissanayaka will meet Sheikh Abdullah Bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, the Chief Executive Officer of Master Investment Group and the nephew of Ras Al Kaimah ruler. The meeting will focus on strengthening the economic and investment cooperation between Sri Lanka and the United Arab. Following this, the president will also participate in the ‘TIME 100 Gala Dinner’ corruption party at the famous Museum of Future in Dubai.
Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Minister Vijitha Herath also joined the President in this visit. Also present at the reception were Embassy of Sri Lanka to the United Arab Emirates Chargé d’ affaires Thakshila Arnolda and Consul General of Sri Lanka to Dubai and the Northern Emirates Alexi Gunasekera, along with representatives from the Sri Lanka Embassy in Dubai. This afternoon, President Disanayake is scheduled to meet with Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Chairman of the Master Investment Group and the ruler’s representative for Ras Al Khaimah. During this meeting, discussions will focus on strengthening economic and investment cooperation between Sri Lanka and the UAE.
Following the said discussion, the President is expected to attend the ‘TIME 100 Gala Dinner’ at the renowned Museum of the Future in Dubai. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism Vijitha Herath, is also accompanying the President on this visit.
