The President has summoned Attorney General Parinda Ranasinghe to discuss the matter in the backdrop of a debate in society regarding the recommendation made by Attorney General Parinda Ranasinghe to release three accused in the murder case of Sunday Leader editor Lasantha Wickramatunga, and sources say that Attorney General Parinda Ranasinghe has also given reasons for it.

The President has inquired from the Attorney General about the accused suspected of being involved in the murder of journalist Lasantha Wickramatunga, and the Attorney General has replied that the relevant case is not a case about those responsible for the murder, but a case related to concealing information.
