The Sri Lankan cricket team has been granted permission to start training without Coaches for the upcoming Indian tournament. Accordingly, the Cricketers will start the practices without the Coaches team including the COVID infected batting Coach on Monday (12).

After returning from the England tour, Sri Lankan batting coach Grant Flower and a data analyst were tested with the COVID -19 positive. Accordingly, the health authorities directed the coaching team who were close associates for quarantine while extending the quarantine period of the Sri Lankan cricket players returning back from England.

Since none of the Sri Lankan players were diagnosed with the virus who underwent PCR tests carried out on Sunday (11), they were granted permission to start practices without Coaches.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Cricket has postponed the one day match between Sri Lanka and India scheduled to start on Tuesday (13) by a few days due to the situation.
