Foreign Minister Dinesh Gunawardena will be addressing Geneva Human Rights Council today ( 26). He will explain as to why Sri Lanka will move out from the 30/ 1 proposals, signed in 2015 September without getting approval from the President and the Parliament.
He will further explain how signing of the proposals had a negative impact on the sovereignty and integrity of Sri Lanka as well as the Constitution of the country.
United States and England which brought the proposals will not be seated in the Council when Foreign Minister Dinesh Gunawardena addresses the Council.
Human Rights Commissioner Ms. Mechali Machlot will furnish the GHRC’s report on Sri Lanka on 27th February 2020.
Activists of Tamil Diaspora had already arrived the Council to observe the special speech to be made by foreign Minister Dinesh Gunawardena on moving away from Geneva proposals.
